Microsoft - it is 2026. How do we find the number of files in a OneDrive Sub-folder???

There are tons of threads on this: like: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/5267072/how-to-find-number-of-files-in-a-onedrive-folder?page=2#answers

As an Admin at a company with older staff who relies on the OD Synch tool it is CRITICAL that we know how many files we are dealing with and how many files are in Sub-Folders! A terabyte is fine and dandy but 100,000 files at 20gb and OneDrive Synch tool breaks... SO> As an admin we are forced to break folders down. And we NEEEEED a way to show us file count for every folder. Details page in the web no longer shows this, instead it shows an endless scrolling list of activity! We are not even able to add a column for File count! Window has this, Windows server has this. We NEED this! Please run this up the ladder and provide us admins a mechanism for total file count of EVERY FOLDER in OneDrive and SharePoint! Thank you.

    Hi Jay,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, I understand that you are currently unable to see the number of files within a subfolder in OneDrive.

In my test environment, I am still able to view and display the number of files contained in a subfolder.

Could you please share some additional details about this issue? It would also be very helpful if you could provide a screenshot so that I can investigate the situation more closely.

I look forward to hearing back from you.
