Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
Please note that this is a user-to-user community. As moderators, we have limited access to internal details, but we will do our best to guide you to the right support resources.
Since blocking, leaving Groups, and rules have not stopped the issue, please try these steps:
1) Report the messages as phishing or junk, not only block them
In Outlook.com, select the spam message, then choose Report > Report phishing or Report junk.
2) Turn off automatic calendar events from email
In Outlook.com, go to Settings > Calendar > Events from email, then turn off or change the event options so Outlook does not automatically add supported email events to your calendar.
3) Do not open links, attachments, or images in the spam message or event
If the calendar item came from a suspicious email, report the email first, then delete the related calendar item. Avoid replying, accepting, or interacting with the invite content.
4) For any new unwanted Group, check the welcome message before leaving
When you are added to a Group, the welcome message may show who added you and includes information about leaving the Group. If the message is in Junk, use it only to identify the Group, then leave the Group from Outlook.com under Groups.
5) Check for unusual account activity
Go to the Microsoft account Recent activity page and review the sign-ins. If you see activity you do not recognize, choose This wasn’t me or secure the account from the Security settings page.
6) Turn on two-step verification if it is not already enabled
Two-step verification helps protect your Microsoft account by requiring two forms of identification when signing in, such as your password and a security code or authenticator method. Reference: How to use two-step verification with your Microsoft account | Microsoft Support
7) Contact Outlook.com support if the same spam pattern continues
If the issue continues after the steps above, contact Outlook.com support from inside the mailbox:
- Open Outlook.com.
- Select Help > Help.
- Search for the issue.
- If the self-help articles do not resolve it, scroll to Still need help? and select Yes.
Please tell me how it goes. If the problem persists, please don’t hesitate to reply to this thread and I will be happy to help. Have a lovely day!
