Hi @Tim Evans
It sounds like your Microsoft account password changed successfully, but the other computer is still using the old credentials.
A few things to try:
- Confirm you're using the Microsoft account password, not the previous Windows PIN or local account password.
- On the locked computer, select Sign-in options (if available) and try another sign-in method, such as your PIN or password.
- If the PC is connected to the internet, leave it on for a few minutes and then try signing in again so it can sync the new password.
- If you're using a Microsoft account and the password is correct but it still won't accept it, restart the PC and ensure it's connected to Wi-Fi or Ethernet before signing in.
If none of those work, could you let us know:
- Is this a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC?
- Are you signing in with a Microsoft account (email address) or a local account?
- Do you normally use a PIN, password, or fingerprint to sign in?
That information will help narrow down the cause.
