Hi,

From what Microsoft has published, there is an installation/setup guide for the Microsoft Data Integration ABAP Add-On for Fabric however I can not find any documentation which details

Detailed upgrade procedures
Detailed uninstall procedures
Rollback/backout procedures
Rollback risk assessment
Impact analysis of removing the add-on after installation

Is this available or is there a process for removing the add on if not required.

I understand that you would like to know how you can un-install Microsoft Data Integration ABAP Add-On from SAP.

Fabric documentation currently explains how to install and use the SAP ABAP Add-On, but it does not provide a published end-to-end uninstall, rollback, upgrade, or backout procedure. - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/data-factory/copy-job-tutorial-sap-abap. You have to manually perform deletion of ABAP programs, packages, function modules, transports, roles, or generated objects is not supported and can leave the SAP system inconsistent. You can follow the steps below: SAP Help: Uninstalling ABAP Software Component Versions with an Uninstallation Configuration

Stop all Fabric Copy Jobs that use Use ABAP Add-On (Preview).
Have SAP Basis identify the installed Microsoft add-on software component/version in SAP.
Check whether the component appears as uninstallable in SAINT.
If it is listed as uninstallable, remove it only through SAP-supported SAINT uninstallation.
If the removal is part of an SAP upgrade/update, evaluate it through Maintenance Planner/SUM.
If the add-on is not listed as uninstallable, do not manually delete ABAP objects. Open a Microsoft Fabric support case with the SAP component details, transport logs, and SAINT/SPAM evidence.

Additionally, based on the currently published Microsoft Fabric documentation for the SAP ABAP Add-On, the documentation focuses on installation, prerequisites, supported SAP versions, and data extraction scenarios. It does not provide a documented upgrade path, rollback procedure, rollback risk assessment, or impact analysis for removing the add-on after installation.

As a best practice, before uninstalling the add-on, organizations should identify any Fabric Copy Jobs or downstream integrations that rely on the Use ABAP Add-On (Preview) capability, as those workloads may no longer be able to extract data from SAP after the add-on is removed. The SAP ABAP Add-On is used as the extraction mechanism between the SAP system and Fabric copy jobs.

Therefore, the uninstall decision should be evaluated from both a SAP Basis perspective (using SAP-supported tools such as SAINT/SPAM where applicable) and an integration perspective to ensure there are no active Fabric workloads dependent on the add-on. The current Microsoft documentation does not document any Microsoft-specific rollback or recovery process once the SAP component has been removed.

For this reason, @Sina Salam guidance to use SAP-supported uninstallation methods and avoid manual deletion of ABAP objects remains the recommended approach.
