Hi Heidi Mitchell,
I understand how confusing it is when a username that seems harmless is rejected as inappropriate.
This may be caused by Minecraft’s automated username filter detecting part of the character combination. Unfortunately, the forum cannot determine exactly which part triggered the filter or manually approve the name.
For now, using an accepted variation, such as the one with an underscore, would be the most practical workaround. If you would like the original name to be reviewed as a possible false positive, please contact Minecraft Support and provide the exact username you attempted to use and a screenshot of the message.
Please note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators and contributors cannot access or modify Minecraft’s username filtering system. If the name becomes accepted later, you can change your Minecraft: Java Edition profile name, subject to the applicable name-change waiting period. You can find the official instructions here: View or change your in-game profile name in Minecraft.
I hope Minecraft Support can review this for you. Thank you so much for your understanding.
