Copilot only appears in:

Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise

Microsoft 365 Apps for Business (some features limited)

Check your version:

File → Account → About Excel Look for Microsoft 365.

Is this version right? But I can use copliot in Word, Powerpoint, Outlook as well as the web excel.

can you please confirm about your o/s . its windows 10 or 11. actually windows not supported copilot.

Settings → System → About Look for **Windows 11 22H2 or later

then you need copilot license as well.
Microsoft 365 Admin Center → Users → Active Users → Licenses.
Admin Center → Settings → Org Settings → Microsoft Copilot.

if not working then you have update the office.

Previously, I was able to edit documents directly with my account, but now it seems I can only chat with Copilot and editing is no longer allowed. This change is quite odd, especially since I had editing access before using the same account. It might be related to the current version of the Office app.
