Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
Hi dorian szymanski,
I understand that someone gained access to your Microsoft account, changed the primary email address, and that your original address is no longer recognized. This does not necessarily mean that the account was deleted, but the regular password-reset process may be unable to locate it under the original address.
Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot access the account or change its sign-in information.
1, Open How to recover a hacked or compromised Microsoft account, select Start, and enter the original email address or phone number associated with the account. Follow the route provided by the Sign-in Helper. The tool may present self-help instructions or an option to contact an agent.
2, If the Sign-in Helper directs you to the Microsoft account recovery form, provide as much accurate historical information as possible, such as previous passwords, contacts, and exact email subject lines. If two-step verification was enabled and none of the verification methods are accessible, the recovery form cannot bypass that protection. See Help with the Microsoft account recovery form.
3, If the steps above do not resolve the issue, you can contact Microsoft Support via live chat for further guidance:
- Visit the Microsoft Support contact page: Contact - Microsoft Support
- In the search bar provided on the page, type "Account Recovery" and press Enter.
- Click on the "Get Help" button that appears.
- Scroll down the page until you see and click on the "Contact Support" option.
- When prompted to select your product or service, choose "Other Products".
- For the category, choose "Manage Account Security".
- Look for and click on "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".
- When prompted, provide a valid contact email where Microsoft can reach you regarding your case.
- Explain your situation clearly: Be concise but provide all the relevant details.
Please keep in mind that support agents cannot bypass Microsoft's account ownership verification process or manually return access to an account without sufficient proof of ownership.
I hope the Sign-in Helper or Microsoft Support is able to identify a recovery path for your account.
