I use MS Office 2021 on a Mac, I did not update my operating system or anything else, but since yesterday I cannot save any Excel (version 16.74) workbooks anymore. I tried Word - same problem - no saving possible.

Signing out and in again did not help, a restart did not help either.

Opening either Word or Excel again, I get the suggestion to update Office, but when I click on Check for Updates, I get an Update error and the message, updates are temporarily unavailable.

Any ideas?

There are a couple of widely reported problems with the Office apps on an Apple Mac at the moment due to the July 13 update

If you have Office 2021, at the top left of your Desktop, click the Apple icon and select 'About this Mac', what version of MacOS is installed on your computer?

Sorry, I probably should use the answer area instead of comment: the OS is Ventura 13.7.8 I did not update anything since I last used the spreadsheets around a month ago - no OS update and no Office update (auto-updates turned off)
