how to access yahoo email from classic outlook

I can not get classic outlook to access my yahoo email. When I add my yahoo email to classic outlook, a window opens to yahoo. After entering my user name and password, I get a "Microsoft Outlook with your Yahoo account and allow Microsoft Outlook to access" window. when I click agree, nothing happens

I understand that the Yahoo sign-in completes but selecting Agree does not finish adding the account to Classic Outlook.

Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot access either account or complete the authorization remotely. First, make sure Office is fully updated:

1. Close Outlook.
2. Open Word or Excel.
3. Select File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
4. Restart the computer after any updates are installed.

The Office update does not need to be started from the Yahoo account setup window. If Update Options is unavailable, Office may be updated through Windows Update instead. How to update Microsoft 365 or Office for Windows

After restarting, open Classic Outlook and try adding the account again through File > Add Account. Enter the Yahoo address, use the regular Yahoo password, complete any two-step verification prompt, and select Agree on the Yahoo permissions page. An app password should not normally be required when Yahoo OAuth is supported. See How to add a Yahoo IMAP account to Outlook Desktop without an app password.

If selecting Agree still does nothing, close Outlook and open Control Panel > Credential Manager > Windows Credentials. Under Generic Credentials, remove only entries beginning with MicrosoftOffice16_Data:OAUTH2 that contain tp_yahoo_imap_Oauth2, if any are present. Then restart Outlook and try adding the account again. This forces Outlook to request fresh Yahoo authorization. See Yahoo OAuth credential workaround for Classic Outlook.

Please let me know whether the Yahoo permissions window remains open after selecting Agree or closes without adding the account.
