Where did you receive the 3-month Microsoft 365 Personal offer, through a new PC, Microsoft Store, or another promotion?

Also, which browser are you using, and have you tried claiming it in a private/incognito window?

Please confirm whether the Microsoft account you are signed in with already has or previously had a Microsoft 365 subscription or trial. Thanks!

Hey @John Jefferson Doyon the free trail came with the laptop. It’s brand new so there was no there versions on it previously, when I try to open word or any other office product a window opens to activate the software with the free trail and when I click through it the last page is every time I click continue it just spins and go back to the same window.

Thanks for clarifying. It sounds like the preinstalled trial activation is stuck in a loop.

First, go to Settings > System > Activation and confirm that Windows shows as activated.

Next, open the Microsoft Store, select Library > Get updates, install all available updates, and restart the laptop. Then open Word and try claiming the trial again using the same personal Microsoft account.

If it still does not work, please confirm:

What is the laptop brand and model?

Does Windows show as activated?

Does the offer appear under Microsoft Store > Library > Included with device?

Type winver in Windows Search and share the Windows version and OS build shown. Thanks!
