Hacked Account

I recently got hacked, and my account for Microsoft was stolen; they changed the email associated with my account, then booted my original email off. I didn't find out until much later because they had moved the notification for this into the trash when they temporarily gained access to my email. I was able to find out the new Minecraft username under the account, as well as a masked version of the email now associated with my account (via my phone number, but I can not use the phone number to sign in now), but is there any way to get it back? At the very least, is there any way for Microsoft to lock the account so that the hacker cannot enjoy my account access?

    Hi,

If the hacker has already changed your email address and recovery methods, it is unfortunately unlikely that you'll be able to recover the account. However, you can still try following the steps in the Microsoft article below:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/how-to-recover-a-hacked-or-compromised-microsoft-account-24ca907d-bcdf-a44b-4656-47f0cd89c245

Regarding locking the account so the hacker can no longer use it, this is a user-to-user forum, so we do not have access to Microsoft's internal tools to do that. I recommend contacting Microsoft Support to ask whether they can block the account.

Click this link: https://support.microsoft.com/contactus/ and sign in to your Microsoft account.

Select Microsoft 365 > Click 'Get home support'. > Type "Chat with an agent" and press Enter > Click "Contact support" at the bottom > Select the product you need help with > Follow the prompts.
