I have already added a new guardian and myself to a family group. I did all permissions but it didn't do anything. It's only attempting to open the Xbox app and/or launching minecraft of which I get the picture above. There's no restrictions, yet this keeps happening. Ask by email doesn't do anything even when I added myself to a family group. It just says like request sent. Even when approved and the xbox app is opened again, it's the same ask by email prompt again

    Hi dakprescottisthagoat,

I can understand how frustrating it must be to approve the request and still be sent back to the same “Ask for permission” screen.

To help narrow this down, could you please confirm:

    • Is the birth date on the affected Microsoft account correct and does it show the account holder as an adult?
    • Are the Microsoft Store, Xbox app and Minecraft Launcher all signed in with the same Microsoft account?
    • When you sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/family, is the affected account currently listed as a member, organizer or not part of any family group?

In the meantime, please try the following:

    • Press Windows key + R, type cmd, and select OK.
    • Enter the following command and press Enter: schtasks /run /tn "Microsoft\Windows\Shell\FamilySafetyRefreshTask"
    • Restart the computer, then open the Microsoft Store and Xbox app again.
    • Sign out of both apps, then sign back in using the same Microsoft account.
    • Check the birth date under Your info at https://account.microsoft.com/. If the account is incorrectly identified as underage, follow Microsoft’s account age and parental consent guidance before trying Xbox again.

Microsoft notes that Family Safety settings may remain on a device that was previously configured under a family group, even when the account is no longer part of that group. The refresh command above is intended to update those settings.
