MS office 2024 not functional in my PC

Question

I have a new ASUS PC on 12th July 2026. It has come with preloaded Windows 11 and also MS office 2024. However, even after creating new MS outlook account and signing in I am not able to use the MS office products in this PC. I want it most urgently these products for my working. If you are not helping me in these. Then I may go to consumer court for filing a case in this regard.

the retailer said the laptop has the office 2024 license. office 2024 doesnt appear under https://account.microsoft.com/services the message which appears on excel and word is that i cant save my file in my local pc

That confirms Office is installed, but the Office 2024 license has not been activated. This is why Word and Excel will open but will not allow you to save files.

Since Office 2024 does not appear in your Microsoft account, please check whether the retailer provided a product key, activation card, or activation instructions. If you received a key, redeem it at: https://office.com/setup Sign in using the Microsoft account you want to permanently link with Office, then enter the key.

Please do not uninstall Office yet. First, open Word or Excel, select "File" > "Account," and tell me exactly what appears under "Product Information." Does it say "Unlicensed Product," "Activation Required," or show another Office version?

Also, what exact Office edition is written on your receipt or laptop packaging, such as Office Home 2024 or Office Home and Business 2024?
