@Thanmayi Godithi so, let me check if I understand properly: The only way now to get the OpenAI's Luna pricing is to move out from Azure? It's a huge pricing difference. $1 vs $0.2 is quite a lot.
Regarding your answer, let me answer it on parts:
Azure OpenAI Service pricing is managed independently from OpenAI's public pricing announcements. As a result, price changes announced by OpenAI may not be reflected immediately, or at the same time, in Azure. Azure pricing updates are communicated through the official Azure pricing pages and service documentation when they become available.
^^^ Yes, we know it. That's why we posted this question on this forum. We clearly realized that pricing are managed independently and price changes may not be reflected. That's the whole point of this question on this forum.
At this time, we do not have information regarding any upcoming pricing changes or estimated timelines for GPT-5.6 Luna/Terra pricing updates in Azure.
^^^ We are on the same. We don't have information about it neither, but Azure clearly needs to change that price, so, the question is: When is it going to change? Is the pricing change already properly reported internally so somebody can work on it?
For the most current Azure OpenAI pricing information, please refer to the Azure pricing documentation and announcements.
^^^ The problem is that there is no announcement. That's what we are trying to get here, at least some kind of "We won't change the prices" announcement, so we can coordinate properly moving out of Azure for Luna and Terra.
We appreciate your feedback and understand the importance of pricing transparency when planning workloads. If there are any official updates, they will be communicated through Microsoft’s standard channels.
^^^ Which EXACTLY link is the one where microsoft uses as standard channel to communicate pricing on Azure Foundry/OpenAI models?
