OneNote for iPad no longer recognizes the “Devanagari MT” font after the latest update

After updating OneNote on iPad, the app no longer recognizes the system font “Devanagari MT”. The font is still available in Microsoft Word, Pages, and other apps on the same device. Existing notebooks formatted in Devanagari MT now render with a substitute font, causing incorrect spacing and layout. The same notebook displays correctly on another device running an older version of OneNote.

Since Devanagari MT still works in Word and Pages, and the notebook displays correctly in an older OneNote version, this appears to be a font-handling regression in the latest OneNote for iPad update rather than a damaged notebook. OneNote for iOS supports Microsoft cloud fonts, but individual app updates can still affect how a system font is recognized.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

In iPad Settings > General > Fonts, confirm that Devanagari MT is still listed. Apple uses this page to manage installed fonts.

Fully close OneNote, restart the iPad, and reopen the notebook. Avoid changing the font in existing notes for now, since that could permanently alter their formatting.

If the notebook is fully synced and opens correctly at OneNote on the web, reinstall OneNote from the App Store. Do not remove the app until you have confirmed that all recent notes are available online.

If the issue continues, report it from OneNote Settings > Help & Support > Send Feedback, including the OneNote version, iPadOS version, font name, and screenshots from both devices.

Until a fix is released, it is recommended that you edit these pages on the older device or another OneNote version where the font renders correctly.
