Dear Microsoft Support,

I am requesting your assistance with recovering missing files from my OneDrive account.

On 8 July 2026, my OneDrive files were accidentally deleted. I performed a OneDrive Restore, and while most of my files were successfully restored, several important Word, Excel, and PDF documents are still missing.

I have already:

Completed the OneDrive Restore process.

Checked the OneDrive Recycle Bin and searched for the missing files.

Attempted local recovery from my Windows PC.

Unfortunately, these important documents are still unavailable.

I kindly request that you investigate whether these missing files can be recovered from your server backups or through any available backend recovery process. If additional information such as file names, approximate deletion time, or account details is required, I will be happy to provide it.

These documents are very important, and I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide.

Thank you for your time and support.

    Hi, shwetha ganesh

I’m sorry the restore did not recover everything, especially after you already checked the usual recovery locations.

Please note that this is a public support forum, so we cannot access your OneDrive account, server backups, or start a backend recovery from here.

If this is a personal OneDrive account, support agents cannot access or recover individual files. A file permanently removed from the OneDrive Recycle Bin cannot be recovered through OneDrive. You can still try searching OneDrive on the web using part of the file name, extension, or date, and confirm that you are signed in to the correct Microsoft account. Restore your OneDrive only reverses activity within the previous 30 days.

If this is a work or school account, contact your Microsoft 365 administrator immediately. They should check the second-stage Recycle Bin and open a Microsoft 365 support request. Include the affected OneDrive URL, several exact file names with extensions, and the date and approximate time when the files were last available. Backend restoration is not guaranteed and, when available, applies to the whole site collection rather than selected files.

Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.
