Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
I understand how frustrating it is when Classic Outlook keeps selecting your new Google Workspace account instead of the previous Gmail account you want to sync.
This issue is usually caused by saved Google authorization credentials. Please try the following steps:
- Close Outlook completely.
- Sign in to your previous Gmail account in a browser.
- Go to Manage your Google Account > Security > Your connections to third-party apps & services > Microsoft apps & services, then remove the existing Microsoft access.
- In Windows, open Credential Manager > Windows Credentials.
- Under Generic Credentials, remove the entries beginning with MicrosoftOffice16_Data:OAUTH2 that contain tp_google_imap_Oauth2.
- Restart Classic Outlook and select File > Add Account.
- Enter the previous Gmail address. If Google automatically displays the business account, select Use another account and sign in with the previous Gmail account.
- When prompted, allow Microsoft apps and services to access Gmail.
Please make sure Outlook is updated before adding the account again by selecting File > Office Account > Update Options > Update Now.
I hope these steps help you reconnect the correct Gmail account.
