    Hi,

I’m Dyari. Thanks for reaching out.

Please connect a headset or external speaker and test the sound. If the headset sounds normal, the laptop’s built-in speakers may have a hardware issue. If the static and distortion also occur through the headset, the audio driver or settings may be responsible.

If the problem started after a driver update, right-click Start > Device Manager > Expand Sound, video and game controllers > Right-click the audio device > Properties > Driver tab > Roll Back Driver, if available.

If that does not resolve the issue, download and reinstall the recommended audio driver for your computer from Dell’s support page:

    https://www.dell.com/support/product-details/en-iq/product/alienware-17-laptop/drivers

Please restart the laptop after installing the driver and test the sound again.
