Can't sign in...

Okay, so, my Xbox account and my microsoft account are not letting me log in on my pc, it usually either just goes blank when I put my info in, or tells me "this account doesn't exist" and I'm genuinely upset because I can't do anything about it and I'm about ready to just make a new account.

Before creating a new account, try to determine whether your original Microsoft account still exists. A new account will not restore Xbox purchases, achievements, game progress, or licenses tied to the original account.

A few questions:

1. Can you sign in at https://account.microsoft.com in a web browser?
2. Does the password reset page recognize your email, or does it also say "This account doesn't exist"?
3. Is your Microsoft account an Outlook/Hotmail/Live address or a Gmail/Yahoo address?
4. Did this start suddenly, or do you suspect the account may have been compromised?
5. Does the blank sign-in screen occur everywhere (Xbox app, Microsoft Store, browser), or only in specific apps?
