Hello everyone, ever since Microsoft Edge updated to the Stable version—Version 151.0.4129.59 (Official build) (64-bit)—the browser stutters/lags a bit while browsing the web or watching videos. How can I fix this? Please help.

    Hi, @Vivek Singh

Since this started immediately after the Edge update, please first send feedback so Microsoft receives the necessary diagnostic details.

In Edge, press Alt + Shift + I describe the lag and video stuttering, and include Version 151.0.4129.59. Submit the feedback while the issue is happening and allow diagnostic data to be included.

    Then repair Microsoft Edge:

To fix the problem with Microsoft Edge, please follow these steps to repair Microsoft Edge:

    • Make sure your browser is closed, and you have administrative rights to your device.
    • Press the Windows + I key to open Settings. > Click on the "Apps" tab.
    • Click on "Installed apps." > Scroll through the app list or use the search bar to locate the Microsoft Edge.
    • Click the three-dots menu (...) next to Microsoft Edge and select "Modify"
    • When prompted to allow changes, select Yes.
    • Now, make sure you're connected to the internet and choose Repair. - This process should not affect your browser data and settings.
    • Wait for the process to complete, after that, Edge will open, close it and restart your PC.

After the repair, restart the computer and check edge://settings/help for another available Edge update.

    If it still stutters:

    • Test the same video in an InPrivate window.
    • Temporarily disable your Edge extensions.
    • Open edge://settings/system, turn off "Use graphics acceleration when available," restart Edge, and test again. If it makes no difference, turn it back on.
    • Test the same video in another browser to determine whether the issue is limited to Edge.

Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks!
