Hi Adriana Hodari,
I understand that the Insider build download reached about 89%, then failed with a "try again" message, and now clicking download no longer starts the download.
To help narrow this down further, could you please provide:
- Which version of Windows you are using (Windows 10 or Windows 11)?
- Which Insider channel you are enrolled in (Canary, Dev, Beta, or Release Preview)?
- Do you see any specific error code in "Windows Update > Update history"?
In the meantime, please try these steps:
- Open "Settings > Windows Update" and select "Check for updates" again. Microsoft recommends checking whether a newer build or update is available that may resolve the issue.
- Run the Windows Update troubleshooter:
- Open "Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters"
- Select "Run" next to "Windows Update"
- Restart the PC after it completes.
- Verify that the device has a stable internet connection and sufficient free storage space before retrying the download. Windows updates may fail if connectivity is interrupted or storage is limited.
