    Hi Adriana Hodari,

I understand that the Insider build download reached about 89%, then failed with a "try again" message, and now clicking download no longer starts the download.

To help narrow this down further, could you please provide:

    • Which version of Windows you are using (Windows 10 or Windows 11)?
    • Which Insider channel you are enrolled in (Canary, Dev, Beta, or Release Preview)?
    • Do you see any specific error code in "Windows Update > Update history"?

In the meantime, please try these steps:

    1. Open "Settings > Windows Update" and select "Check for updates" again. Microsoft recommends checking whether a newer build or update is available that may resolve the issue.
    2. Run the Windows Update troubleshooter:
      • Open "Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters"
      • Select "Run" next to "Windows Update"
      • Restart the PC after it completes.
    3. Verify that the device has a stable internet connection and sufficient free storage space before retrying the download. Windows updates may fail if connectivity is interrupted or storage is limited.

Note: Please follow the steps in our documentation to enable e-mail notifications if you want to receive the related email notification for this thread.
