how to get the 48 number key to open my computer. I cannot get into my computer at all. it asks me for the 'key". please let me have those numbers to open my computer

    I'm sorry you're running into this issue. If your computer is asking for a 48-digit recovery key, it's most likely requesting your BitLocker Recovery Key. This key is unique to your device, so I'm unable to provide or generate it.

    If this is your personal PC, try signing in to your Microsoft account from another device and check whether the recovery key was backed up there. If it's a work or school device, your organization's IT administrator may have the key. You can also check if you previously saved, printed, or stored the recovery key on a USB drive when BitLocker was enabled.

    If the recovery key can't be found, BitLocker encryption can't be bypassed. The only remaining option is to erase the drive and reinstall Windows via Clean Install, which will remove all data stored on it.
