    Hi,

First, disconnect any USB or wireless mouse, including its USB receiver. Some laptops may disable the touchpad when an external mouse is connected.

Next, check the function keys at the top of the keyboard for a touchpad icon. The exact key depends on the laptop model. Press that function key once. If it does not work, hold the Fn key and press the touchpad function key again.

You can also go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad and make sure it is turned on.

If the Touchpad option is missing, open Device Manager and check under “Mice and other pointing devices” and “Human Interface Devices.” See whether the touchpad is disabled or showing a warning icon.

    1. What is the laptop brand and exact model?
    2. Is any mouse or USB receiver currently connected?
    3. Can you see a touchpad icon on any of the function keys? You can also share the laptop model so I can help identify the correct key.

    Thanks!
