MSN prompt blocking my access to OUTLOOK

I just want to get into Outlook. But actions to Verify my account & ADD anther email address is thwarting it. Prompt comes up to give alternative email and I cannot dismiss it and just go to Outlook. No code was sent in other attempts. It's frustrating ! * I am not techie enough to figure out some of these glitches. TY

- Are you signing in with a personal Outlook/Hotmail account or a work/school account?
- What is the exact message shown on the prompt?
- Do you still have access to the alternative email address it is asking you to use?
