Here are the problems I encounter after i notice that edge is not opening:

Whenever I try to open Edge it immediately closes same with my other browsers like Brave.
Outlook and Microsoft 365 Copilot does not open.
When opening my WhatsApp it is stuck in the logo.

My latest update is the KB510168

4Tray developer has just wrote me : they released version 6.08 of 4tray, and solved the issue with Edge and other applications.

I'm having the same problem, but I didn't install any updates or anything. Both of them (edge and brave) decided not to start. I did all updates yesterday, but it didn't help. The process is in Task Manager... it stays there for some time, then closes.

I tried repair, reinstall, windows updates, and even a new profile, but nothing works.

EDIT. Found my problem. It was "4t Tray Minimizer" app.

Did you know why suddenly 4t Tray Minimizer start doing that? Yesterday I was using the both (edge and 4t) and got no problem.

I don't really know since 4t last update was in 2017. Chatgpt says ShellEh6055x64.dll is causing the problem. I tried adding Edge to the exclusion list and also tried to disable all 4t buttons, but it still doesn't work. Even when I have Edge open and start 4t, Edge will freeze, and I can't do anything unless I close 4t.

Funny, it was Chatgpt that helped me find the source of the problem. It made me pull some error logs, and it was there that I found 4t was blocking Edge.

Last Chatgpt suggestion is to rename ShellEh6055x64. Can't try this right now as the file is in use and it requires a PC restart. Will have to test tonight or tomorrow.

Same with me! And more... all my startup apps stop working until I close 4tray. PowerToys, AnyDesk... all of them crashed

Chatgpt gave me some alternatives:

Traymond: A tiny open-source utility that lets you minimize any active window to the system tray using Win + Shift + Z.

RBTray: Minimizes windows to the system tray whenever you right-click their standard minimize button.

KB5101684 is an optional preview update, it is basically an early beta release of the August update.

The optional preview updates my contain bugs and there is no need to install the optional preview updates.

The best option is to uninstall the KB5101684 update to test if that resolves the problems, before you do that, go to the Windows Update settings section below that update is a switch to 'Get the latest updates as soon as they are released', disable that option and restart your PC that will stop optional preview updates installing on your PC, then uninstall that optional preview update.

Uninstalling the KB5101684 did not resolve the issue. I also notice that Microsoft Edge related apps is not working like Microsoft teams and the news widget. Does this have to do with the other errors?

Just checking in with you, were you able to uninstall the preview update, and if so, did that resolve the problems you were experiencing.

If that is the error you are seeing, you can download and install the Edge WebView 2 runtime from this link, then restart (not shut down) your PC to apply the change..

I downloaded the Evergreen Boostrapper, after running the MicrosoftEdgeWebview2Setup.exe it says Installation failed and i have the Microsoft Edge Webview 2 Runtime already installed.

Checking my Apps in the setting it's not there also in the control panel > programs

Okay, I think now, the best option will be to perform an in-place repair with the Windows 11 ISO.

Please ensure you download the ISO in the same language as you use for the Windows UI, follow the steps, this is then not like re-installing Windows, it is just like an update and your personal files, settings and installed software will not be affected.

When the ISO file completes downloading

Disconnect from the Internet

Disconnect all external devices with the exception of a mouse or keyboard.

Temporarily disable any 3rd party Anti-virus you may have installed

Then, in Windows File Explorer, double click the ISO and then run Setup.exe and select the Install option.

Very Important - ensure you select the option to keep your files and apps.

Uninstalling the KB5101684 did not resolve the issue. My Edge and Chrome browser has not been able to stay open for days now. Any further advise?

I inspected my event viewer for windows and all error from my Outlook app, M355 Copilot, and Vantage app has this "nViewH64.dll" which after searching online is a Graphics driver issue. The other fix I found is the this DDU fix https://www.wagnardsoft.com/display-driver-uninstaller-ddu-download. Haven't tried it cause I need to find my Recovery Key ID to boot into safe mode.
