How to fix OneDrive file issue on iPhone

I'm trying to access a file via OneDrive on my iPhone. It's a .pdf file, and I get the following error message: "The file can't be displayed. Sorry, there was a problem opening the viewer. Error code 100." This happens to other .pdf files as well (but not all). I noticed the files that I can't open are older (not sure if that makes a difference). I've been able to access all files in the past...this is a recent issue. Has anyone else had this issue?

  • iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 26.5.2
  • Microsoft 365 as a consumer
  • Using personal laptop, not an enterprise one
  • Using Adobe Acrobat Pro, individual (not enterprise)

Sorry you’re experiencing this issue. Since the error affects several PDFs but not all of them, the first step is to determine whether the PDFs themselves are damaged or whether the problem is limited to the OneDrive viewer on iOS.

Open your browser and sign in to OneDrive.com, then try opening one of the affected PDFs. Also test the same file from your laptop. If it opens there, the file is intact and the issue is most likely with the OneDrive iOS viewer.

Please let me know whether the same PDF opens through OneDrive.com and directly through the Acrobat app.
