I just want to use word and other apps without signing my life away.

I bought a new Apple Neo computer and I want to be able to use Word and other apps on it without signing in or login on to a lot of other things. I have paid the $99.99 plus tax and just want to get on with using the apps. I don't want to read and answer a ton of questions about other services and features and what not. I just want to be able to get on with using the apps I had on my old computer without spending another hour or more on my computer reading and answering questions and accepting/refusing offers and subscriptions and other add-ons.

The $99.99 payment is most likely for Microsoft 365 Personal. It requires one Microsoft account sign-in to verify the subscription and activate Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the other desktop apps, but you do not have to use OneDrive, Teams, Copilot, or other optional services.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Go to Microsoft 365 Apps and sign in using the same email address used for the $99.99 purchase.

Select Install apps, run the downloaded installer, and install only the apps you want. During installation, select Customize if that option appears.

Open Word, select Get Started, then sign in once more with the same Microsoft account to activate it. After activation, you can save documents directly on the Mac and skip optional prompts or offers.

If the purchase was made through Apple, check App Store > Account Settings > Subscriptions and install the apps from the Mac App Store.

If these steps do not match what you see, please provide the macOS version and confirm whether the purchase was made from Microsoft or Apple.
