I don't have my phone added, but doesn't matter what I change I have to select my phone as 2FA:

    Hello Simple User,

Greetings! Thanks for raising this question in Q&A forum.

I understand this is frustrating, especially when you are blocked from accessing the Azure portal. The most likely cause is that the SMS-based MFA verification method is not being delivered, the registered phone number is outdated, or there is an authentication issue that requires administrator or support intervention.

    1. Try signing in using another available verification method such as the Microsoft Authenticator app, phone call, backup code, or another configured MFA method.
    2. If you are part of an organization, contact your Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) administrator and ask them to review your MFA settings and reset or update your authentication methods if necessary.
    3. If you recently changed your phone number, ask your administrator to update or re-register your MFA methods.
    4. If you are locked out and no alternate verification method is available, use the account recovery options available from the Microsoft sign-in page.
    5. If the issue persists, create a Microsoft support request through an administrator who has access to the tenant so the authentication logs can be reviewed.

The next action is with your tenant administrator or Microsoft Support if you cannot access any alternate authentication method. They can validate the MFA configuration, review sign-in logs, and restore access to the account.
