Startups: Companies that are in their initial stages of business and typically developing a business model and seeking financing.
There is no direct edit or resubmit option for a submitted Microsoft for Startups application. If the application is still pending, use the confirmation email flow to delete and reapply. If it was declined, reapplication is allowed after 14 days.
For a manual review or help with updated business/domain information, submit a support ticket through the Microsoft for Startups Portal:
- Sign in to the Microsoft for Startups Portal.
- Select the ? icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Submit a Support Ticket.
- Attach relevant documents and screenshots of the verification error.
For profile changes such as startup name, address, or email:
- Sign in to the Microsoft for Startups Portal.
- Select the gear icon in the top-right corner.
- On My profile, choose edit for the field to change.
- Select Save changes.
- If the email address was updated, complete the verification email step.
If the issue is specifically that the company domain or account setup changed, the documented guidance is to ensure the company custom domain is added and verified, and if credits need to be moved to a different account, submit an entitlement transfer request through Microsoft for Startups Program Support.
If the account used to activate the credits is unclear, Program Support can help identify it through a support ticket.
Based on the documented process:
- Use the existing membership and submit a support ticket first for manual review.
- Update profile details in the portal where available.
- Reapply only if the application was declined and the 14-day reapplication window applies, or if a pending application is deleted and resubmitted through the confirmation email flow.
