Can Microsoft Teams Meeting Attendance Reports ever record an incorrect initial join time ?

I have a technical question regarding the reliability of Microsoft Teams Meeting Attendance Reports.

During one of my Microsoft Teams meetings, I encountered the following error:

"An encryption error occurred. This meeting encountered an unexpected error. Please try to rejoin again."

I would like to understand how such situations affect the attendance report.

Specifically, I would appreciate clarification on the following:

1. Are Microsoft Teams attendance reports considered 100% accurate in all situations, or are there any exceptional scenarios where the recorded attendance may not exactly match a participant's actual participation?
2. If a participant encounters an unexpected Teams client error (for example, an encryption error, client crash, forced reconnect, authentication issue, or temporary service interruption), is it technically possible that the participant's initial join time recorded in the attendance report could differ from their actual first join time?
3. Does Microsoft officially acknowledge any limitations of the Teams attendance report, particularly in cases involving unexpected client-side or service-related errors?
4. If such situations are possible, are there any official Microsoft documents describing these limitations or explaining how attendance is generated?

I am not asking Microsoft to investigate a particular meeting or determine whether an error occurred in my case. My goal is only to understand whether the attendance report should always be treated as an infallible record, or whether extremely rare technical exceptions are possible.

Any clarification or references to official Microsoft documentation would be greatly appreciated.

Based on the Microsoft documentation I reviewed, Teams attendance reports are intended to provide a reliable record of meeting participation. However, I have not found any official Microsoft document stating that attendance reports are guaranteed to be 100% accurate in all circumstances.

From a technical perspective, unexpected client-side or service-related events could potentially affect how participation is reflected in reporting data. The attendance report depends on the participation events recorded by Teams services. I have not found any official Microsoft document stating that every possible error or reconnection scenario will always preserve a participant's original join timestamp exactly as experienced by the user.

Microsoft's official support documentation includes a"Known issues and limitations" section for Teams attendance reports.
