I am using a MacBook Neo. Any idea how to get this Edge to work? I have to repeatedly uninstall and reinstall. I just got this MacBook Neo, and I don't know why it's having this issue. I am running Apple A18 Pro - Tahoe 26.5.2.

Thank you,

    Welcome Brit Schneider,

Since this is a public forum, we will hide your personal identifiable information, and I have sent that image of yours containing your personal identifiable information in a private message so we can work together to resolve the issue.

I understand how frustrating it can be when Microsoft Edge on your Mac displays the message "You can’t open the application 'Microsoft Edge' because this application is not supported on this Mac," and you currently need to uninstall and reinstall Edge repeatedly to make it work.

    Before proceeding, could you clarify:

    • Does the issue occur immediately after installation, or only after restarting the Mac?
    • Was Edge installed from the Microsoft Edge website or restored during Mac migration/setup?

In the meantime, you can try these steps below to troubleshoot the issue:

Option 1: Verify the Edge version installed

    • Open Finder > Applications
    • Right-click Microsoft Edge and select Get Info
    • Confirm the application is installed normally and not marked as incompatible

Option 2: Remove Edge completely before reinstalling

    • Delete Microsoft Edge from Applications
    • In Finder, select Go > Go to Folder and remove:
      • ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft Edge
      • ~/Library/Caches/Microsoft Edge
      • ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.microsoft.edgemac.savedState

Option 3: Download the latest Apple Silicon version

Option 4: Check macOS security settings

    • Open System Settings > Privacy & Security
    • If an Open Anyway option appears for Microsoft Edge, select it

Option 5: Test using a new macOS user profile

    • Create a temporary local user account
    • Install and launch Edge from that profile to determine whether the issue is user-profile specific

I hope the steps above help you deal with your issue.
