I number all my photos... 0001, 0002, 0003 etc. is there a way to show the photos in order instead of having them all mixed up? Having them in order is easier to find a particular photo. Thanks

    Hello Jack Smook,

I understand that you have numbered your photos as 0001, 0002, 0003, and so on, but the new OneDrive Photos view displays them in a mixed order instead of following their file names.

Please try the following workaround to see if it helps:

    1. Sign in to OneDrive on the web and select My files.
    2. Open the folder where the numbered photos are stored.
    3. Change the view to List, then select the Name column and choose A to Z. You can also select Sort in the upper-right corner, then choose Name.
    4. Continue using numbers with the same length, such as 0001, 0002, and 0010. This will keep them in the intended order when sorted by name.

This sorting applies to the folder under My files, not the main Photos/Gallery view. As sorting by filename in Photos is currently unavailable.

I also recommend sending feedback from OneDrive to request the ability to sort photos in the main Photos/Gallery view by file name or numerical order. Select Help & feedback in OneDrive > choose Send feedback, briefly explain that the current date-based order makes numbered photos difficult to locate, and include a screenshot if possible. This will send the suggestion to the relevant product team for consideration in a future update.
