Why when I try to access BitLocker Recovery it is just a white screen and says authenticating then goes to blank white screen.

I understand how concerning this can be, especially when you need the BitLocker recovery key to regain access to your device.

The BitLocker recovery key webpage is currently not loading correctly for some users, although not everyone is affected. It is aware of the reports and is investigating.

In the meantime, please try the following:

• Open an InPrivate or Incognito window, then visit the BitLocker recovery key page and sign in again.
• Clear your browser’s cache and cookies for Microsoft account websites, then completely close and reopen the browser.
• Temporarily disable browser extensions, especially ad blockers or privacy and script-blocking extensions.
• Try a different browser, another device such as a phone or tablet or a different network connection.
• Make sure you sign in with the same Microsoft account that was used when the affected PC was set up. If you have more than one Microsoft account, please check each one.

If the page still remains blank after showing “Authenticating” please contact Microsoft Support. Select Contact Support, describe the issue, and choose the available Live Chat option. The support team can help investigate further and collect the relevant diagnostic logs. If this is a work or school device, the recovery key may be stored in your organization’s account, so you should also contact your IT administrator.

For security, please do not post your 48-digit recovery key or the full Recovery Key ID publicly. Also, please note that Microsoft Support and community members cannot retrieve, provide, or recreate a lost BitLocker recovery key.
