Dear @Patricia Tay Li Hoon (CGH),
Based on the error message, Excel is attempting to access a file stored in a user's OneDrive location Microsoft Teams Chat Files, but it is unable to find the file. This can occur if the file has been moved, renamed, deleted, or if the workbook contains a reference to an outdated file path.
First, please kindly let me know some information:
- Does the issue occur with only this file or with all shared Excel files?
- Can the file be opened successfully in Excel for the web?
- Is the file owner able to locate the file in their OneDrive under Documents in Microsoft Teams Shared Files?
As a first step, could you please check the following:
- Open the workbook in the Excel desktop application.
- Go to Data > Queries & Connections and review any existing queries for references to old SharePoint or OneDrive locations.
- Go to Formulas > Name Manager and check whether any named ranges reference the missing file or an old file path.
- If you copy the file to other folders and open the newly copied file, what's the result?
- If it is convenient, I suggest you upload the affected file to an online place such as OneDrive for Business or SharePoint Online and then open the Excel file in Excel for the web directly to see if you can open the Excel file successfully. If yes, I suggest you create a new file, copy the file content to the newly created file from Excel for the web and use the newly created one as a quick fix to move forward.
Welcome to share any updates when you have time if you need further help on this issue. Thank you very much for your valuable time and your cooperation.
