I've lost the ability to select several words and drag

I am suddenly no longer able to select several words. I can now select either only one, or I can select the whole text (by double clicking). I have also lost the ability to drag selected words. How do I fix this?

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

    Before we proceed further, may I know if your computer can still drag and drop other stuffs (folders, apps icon,...). Also, have you tried with another mouse?
