Unable to Verify Academic Status for Azure for Students - Domain Not Recognized

Hello Microsoft Team,

I am trying to sign up for Azure for Students, but I am unable to pass the academic verification step because my university email domain is not recognized by the system. The error says: "Domain email Anda saat ini tidak terdaftar dengan kami".

Furthermore, I cannot submit a standard support ticket because my personal account gets blocked by a Tenant error ("User account does not exist in tenant"). The @AzureSupport team on Twitter directed me to post here for manual verification.

Here are my details:

University Name: Universitas Garut (Indonesia)

University Email Domain: @fkominfo.uniga.ac.id

Full Academic Email: [Moderator note: personal info removed]@fkominfo.uniga.ac.id

I have attached the screenshot of the verification error. I have my Student ID Card (KTM) ready to provide for manual verification.

Could you please guide me on how to manually verify my student status or whitelist my university domain?

Thank you!IMG_1239

    Dear @RAUDATUL GANI,

Please understand that this forum is a public platform, and moderators will modify your question to cover your personal information in the description. Please notice to hide these personal or organization information next time you post error or some information to protect personal data.

Based on your description, this error is generally related to the Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) tenant associated with the account being used and is separate from the Azure for Students verification issue. Please try:

    • Signing out of all Microsoft accounts.
    • Opening an InPrivate/Incognito browser session.
    • Signing in only with the intended Microsoft account before accessing the Azure for Students signup page.

If the tenant error persists, include the complete error message and screenshot when contacting Azure Support so they can investigate the account configuration.

Please note that neither community moderators nor forum members can manually verify student status or whitelist a university domain. Only the Microsoft team responsible for student verification can review supporting documentation and update eligibility records if appropriate. You can try:

    Ask your university IT administration

Confirm whether the university participates in Microsoft education programs and whether the domain fkominfo.uniga.ac.id is the officially recognized student email domain.

In some cases, the primary university domain (for example, uniga.ac.id) may be registered while a faculty subdomain is not.

    Or contact Azure Subscription Support

If verification continues to fail, submit a support request through the Azure for Students support channels or Support | Azure Dev Tools for Teaching and provide:

University name, email domain and describe your situation so the agent can support you more effectively.

I hope information above can help you resolve the issue, please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

Note: Please follow the steps in the forum documentation to enable e-mail notifications if you want to receive the related email notification for this thread.
