An integrated threat protection solution designed to detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats across Microsoft 365 services.
Hi, Marianne
This looks like a browser verification problem rather than an incorrect password. The “Press and hold” check can loop when stored cookies, browser extensions, or the current network interfere with the authentication page.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
Open a private or incognito window, then sign in again at Microsoft account.
If it still loops, clear the browser’s cookies and cached files for Microsoft sites, close the browser completely, and reopen it.
Temporarily disable ad blockers, privacy extensions, VPNs, or proxy services. Then try another updated browser. It is recommended that you test both Edge and Chrome, since the verification may work in one browser but not another.
Try another device and switch networks, for example from Wi-Fi to mobile data. A different network is an official troubleshooting step for verification blocks.
Avoid repeatedly submitting the robot check, as repeated attempts can extend a temporary security block. If the problem follows the account across browsers, devices, and networks, use the Microsoft account sign-in helper to identify the issue and access the available support options.
