WIN 11 Wireless band switching from 5 to 2.4 - randomly

WIN 11 - HP computer - My network band often switches from 5GHz to 2.4GHz. I've tried all the remedies - like uninstalling the adapter and reinstalling it. It works - for a while, but sometimes randomly cuts back from 5 to 2.4. Drivers are sound and up to date. Suggestions?

    Thanks for the reply. I'll try it soon if this latest suggestion does not work: I"m setting the Adapter to 802.11 A - which I understand should keep the band at 5GHz. We'll see - Thanks, again.

    This problem is not necessarily a problem on your PC, it may be a problem with the WiFi router, this may be caused by signal range limits, router band automatic routing, or automatic fallback on the router when the 5 GHz signal drops.

    Click your Start Button, type cmd and choose Command Prompt

    Run this command and hit Enter:

    ipconfig /flushdns

    Run this command and hit Enter:

    ipconfig /registerdns

    Run this command and hit Enter:

    netsh winsock reset

    Run this command and hit Enter:

    netsh int ip reset

    Close Command Prompt

    Open the Settings App

    Go to Network and Internet

    Click the Network Reset button

    Wait for your PC to automatically restart after 5 minutes, do not manually restart your PC.
