The community Infinity data source (yesoreyeram-infinity-datasource) can only be used if it appears in the Plugin management list of your Azure Managed Grafana workspace, and Azure Managed Grafana does not allow installing arbitrary community plugins.

Plugin installation and removal in Azure Managed Grafana is done only from the Azure Managed Grafana workspace in the Azure portal → Plugin management. It is not available from the Grafana UI or the Azure CLI at this stage.

The Plugin management page shows only the optional plugins Microsoft exposes (core plugins included in your pricing plan aren't listed there). If a plugin ID isn't in that table, there is no supported way to add it.

Microsoft also notes that third-party plugins have their own release, security, testing and update processes outside Microsoft's control, and customers must evaluate them before use.

So the deciding factor is simply: open Azure portal → your Managed Grafana instance → Plugin management and look for the plugin ID yesoreyeram-infinity-datasource. If it isn't listed there, it's not supported/installable on your instance.

If your goal is to query REST/JSON APIs (which is what Infinity is typically used for), point them to the Azure API examples for Infinity the same Azure Management API data (subscriptions, resources, cost data) can be reached natively via the built-in Azure Monitor / Azure Resource Graph data sources in Managed Grafana, or by self-hosting Grafana (e.g., on AKS or App Service) where any community plugin can be installed.

No. Azure Managed Grafana plugin management supports only the curated plugins exposed in the Azure portal. Community/custom plugins cannot be installed, and customers with a Standard tier plan can access additional data sources only through the Plugin management feature if those plugins are available there.

If yesoreyeram-infinity-datasource does not appear in Plugin management, it is not supported for installation in Azure Managed Grafana Standard tier.

Plugin installation and removal are done only from the Azure Managed Grafana workspace in the Azure portal, not from the Grafana UI or Azure CLI.
