My PreRegistered Alphanumeric Sender ID is fully approved, and API calls are returning a 202 success. However, delivery reports are returning ErrorCode: 5000

My PreRegistered Alphanumeric Sender ID is fully approved, and API calls are returning a 202 success. However, delivery reports are returning ErrorCode: 5000. When I send test SMS's to myself I never receive them when using the Alphanumeric Sender ID. I only receive test SMS's when using the purchased phone number as provided via MS.

These error codes are exposed through the DeliveryStatusDetails field in the SMS delivery report.
Regarding Alphanumeric Sender ID:
- Pre-registered alphanumeric sender IDs are supported for one-way outbound SMS in specific countries/regions.
- They must be approved before use.
- Delivery success is confirmed only via delivery reports, not by the initial API response.
Because Error 5000 is defined as a generic delivery failure with no additional customer-facing details, Microsoft’s documented resolution is File a support request through the Azure portal.**
