I am finding I can't edit cells, or type in cells at all in excel. It's as if my keyboard isn't working. I can use Word fine, and everything else for that matter. I have tried switching between sheets and making sure no other excel files are open. This is a newly installed Office on Mac Tahoe.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

    1. Quit all Office apps on your Mac.
    2. Go to the Microsoft Office License Removal Tool website.

Download and run the license removal tool

    1. Download and run the tool.
    2. This tool will completely remove all previous traces of the Office license installed on your Mac.

If the license is not detected in Excel and the spreadsheets appear in read-only mode, this may help.

If the issue persists, here’s what you can try:

In Finder, click Go in the menu bar and go to the folder ~/Library/Containers/.

Delete the folder that starts with com.microsoft.Excel.

Restart your Mac and launch Excel.
