Latest version of MS Office 365

Latest version of Windows 11.

When I am working on a worksheet in Excel and I maximize the window, the status bar at the bottom of the worksheet window disappears. I have tried every solution I could find including fixing Office, reinstalling office, Creating a new spreadsheet to see if the problem is specific to the spreadsheet. (It isn't). I know this was working not all that long ago because I like to highlight cells with numbers to get the sum so I can compare to formula results. Suddenly I can't.

Has anyone seen this and been able to fix it?

Thank you.

Please share a screenshot showing the entire maximized Excel window, whether the Windows taskbar is set to automatically hide.

In the meantime, press Alt + Space, select Restore, and afterward use Alt + Space > Maximize.
