I'm having difficulty with GlobalProtect not opening a web page for authentication in Edge, my default browser. This is for a specific portal.

Microsoft Edge | Open the browser | Windows 11

    Thanks!

What suggestions did your IT administrator make?

Has this problem happened to another user? Ask them to run a test using your user account and settings on another computer to determine whether the issue lies with your user account or with Windows itself.

    Hi!

From what I understand, the authentication page doesn't even open in Edge. Check if the browser is set to open HTML files or if any changes have been made.

    1. Press Windows + R > Type ms-settings:defaultapps > Press Enter.
    2. In the first search bar (Enter a file type or link type), type .html > Check if Edge is the app that appears. If not, click it and set Edge as the default.
    • Do the same for the .htm file type.
    1. After making the changes, restart your computer.

I assume you are in a corporate environment, correct? GlobalProtect is typically used by companies. If the solution above doesn't work, you will need to contact your company's IT administrator, as only they will have the information regarding GlobalProtect.
