How to validate an identity when the Verified ID makes a match impossible?

I'm trying to get an Artifact Signing account setup and I am unable to validate my identity because the addresses don't exactly match.

I found an answer elsewhere that claimed that you could fix this by setting the SoldTo addressing in Billing Account properties... but I'm unable to enter an exact matching address in those forms.

Some problems I'm seeing:

The Verified ID. Uses an uppercase 2-digit state abbreviation, an uppercase "USA" and zipcode in the form XXXXX0000.

The sold-to and billing addresses use a lowercase 2-digit state abbreviation, an uppercase "US" and a zipcode in the form XXXXX-0000.

I literally CANNOT change the casing of the address fields and I cannot remove the hyphen from the zip-code in any form I can find in my account. I am completely stuck at verifying my identity.

the answer was to use the CLI update the SoldTo address to match all casings and remove hyphens that cannot be accomplished through the web UI input forms.

Hello Ryan - First of all the formatting differences you are seeing (USA vs US) are expected as the two values comes from different sources. The address on the Verified ID is transcribed from the government issued Id & the sold-to / billing from Azure commerce data. Don't stack up requests. Per the FAQ, additional requests for the same entity while one is in progress don't help and can't be expedited.

Refer the Artifact Signing FAQ If the mismatch is on name or facecheck rather than address formatting

    1. Delete the existing identity validation request.
    2. Remove the associated Verified ID from the Microsoft Authenticator app.
    3. Submit a new identity validation request and create a new Verified ID, ensuring the information is accurate and the verification environment has adequate lighting.

If the new request still fails, open a case with Azure Support rather than re-submitting. Have your validation request ID, tenant ID, and the UTC timestamp of the failure ready, but don't post those or any identity documents in this public thread.
