I was sent an email saying I need to action by 10/01/2026. In my mind this is 10 January……..7 months ago. Does Microsoft use different date setting to the rest of the world and mean 1 October????

Hi Maureen,
Microsoft normally uses the US date format (MM/DD/YYYY) in emails and automated system messages. So 10/01/2026 means October 1st, 2026, not January 10th.
You didn’t miss anything by the way - the message is referring to a future date. If the sender didn’t detect your region correctly, the date may show in the US format even though you’re in the UK.
Regards
