Repair request without any response after approval

Question

All Office Programs ask for a repair when I try to open

No response action after pressing "Repair Now"

Exit all Office apps and run an Online Repair of Office; see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/lifecycle/repair-an-office-application .

Before you begin, make sure that you can access your Microsoft account at https://account.microsoft.com/services and that Office is associated with it, so that you can reinstall later (because a reinstall is usually the final step in an Online Repair).

The Repair Now button in that error dialog often does not resolve this issue. Use a full Office repair instead.

1. Restart the device.
2. Open Start > Settings.
3. Go to:
   • Windows 11: Apps > Installed apps
   • Windows 10: Apps > Apps & features
4. Find the Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365 product.
5. Select it, then choose Modify. If no option appears, select the three dots first.
6. If prompted:
   • For Click-to-Run, select Online Repair > Repair. This is the most complete repair. Quick Repair is faster, but it only detects and replaces corrupted files.
   • For MSI-based installs, select Repair > Continue.
7. Follow the on-screen steps to complete the repair.

Important: repairing Office repairs the entire Office suite, even if only Word or Excel is failing.
