Hello, so for the past 2 days I've been trying to regain access to my Microsoft account. When I logged into my computer link to windows said theres a problem with your account please fix it. Now my windows account is through an alias email @gmail.com. I followed the instructions had the reset code sent to my back up email. First code works. 2nd code it says "There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later." I also had another window saying the microsoft account is no longer available and to designate a new account. Then I get prompted to put in my old password which none of the ones I use is working. I've tried calling into to customer support and have had no luck talking to anyone. I've lost access to my cloud which has all my business documents and other services linked to the account. Any help would be appreciated because I don't want to lose any of my documents and access to products I have paid for.

    Hi Mr. O,

I’m sorry to hear about the difficulty accessing your account, especially since it contains important documents and services that you rely on.

Based on the information you provided, it appears that the account recovery process is recognizing the initial verification step, but the second verification stage is not completing successfully. This can sometimes occur due to a temporary issue with the verification workflow, account security settings, or the sign-in method being used.

As a next step, try the recovery process from a different browser or an InPrivate/Incognito session and, if possible, from a device and network that you have previously used to access the account. If you still cannot sign in, please submit the form at Microsoft Account Recovery.

You can also use Microsoft's Sign-in Helper, which is specifically designed for situations where verification methods are unavailable or not working.
