How can I switch my M365 plan from Family to Personal without losing my data?
Credit card billing is still in pending status

The process to switch from one Microsoft 365 subscription to another version is provided on the link below.

To go from the Family edition to the Personal edition is explained in the 'Switch to a Microsoft 365 subscription with fewer features'.

Basically you need to cancel the existing subscription and cancel recurring billing on that subscription, when that subscription expires, you can then take out the new subscription

Provided you use the exact same Microsoft account on the new subscription, you will still have access to all your files and the same 1TB of OneDrive storage.

The safest way is:

• Wait until your Microsoft 365 Personal subscription is active.
• Sign in using the same Microsoft account that currently owns the Family subscription.
• If your Family plan is still active, turn off recurring billing and let it expire, or cancel it if appropriate.
• Once the Personal subscription starts, it will continue to provide Microsoft 365 benefits for that same account (OneDrive, Outlook, Office apps, etc.).

Your files in OneDrive, emails in Outlook, and documents remain attached to your Microsoft account, they are not deleted simply because you change from Family to Personal.

"Credit card billing is still in pending status."

That usually means Microsoft is still processing your payment. Until the payment is approved and the Personal subscription becomes active, don't make further changes or cancel anything unless Microsoft specifically instructs you to.
