Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hi Carolyn,
Good day, and thank you for taking the time to explain your situation.
When you purchase a Microsoft 365 Business Basic subscription, Microsoft automatically creates a tenant for you and assigns a default domain in the format yourtenantname.onmicrosoft.com. This onmicrosoft.com account is often the primary account you use to sign in to Microsoft 365 services and manage your subscription.
Because of this, you may not be able to sign in with your Gmail address. Instead, you may need to use the Microsoft 365 account that was created for you during setup.
To find this account, please check the email inbox you used when you first purchased your subscription and search for keywords such as "Microsoft 365" or "onmicrosoft.com".
You may also want to check your Junk, Spam, and Archive folders, as these setup emails sometimes end up there.
Once you find your onmicrosoft.com account, you can try signing in at https://excel.cloud.microsoft/ to start using Excel, and at admin.cloud.microsoft to manage your subscription.
Please note that Microsoft 365 Business Basic includes web versions of Office apps only. This means you can use Excel, Word, and PowerPoint in your browser, but this subscription does not include the downloadable desktop versions of those apps.
I hope this information helps clarify the situation. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance.
