Using New Outlook on Windows for professional communication and productivity
Hi Angie,
I hope you're having a good day.
Based on my research, there is currently no option in New Outlook for Windows to draw shapes directly in the body of an email as you could in classic Outlook.
As a workaround, you may consider inserting graphics or a table and then add the corresponding text.
To locate these options:
- Open a new email compose window.
- Select Insert.
- Choose Graphics or Table, depending on your needs.
I agree that this would be a valuable addition to the New Outlook, and it’s a situation many others may run into as well. As sharing this kind of experience can be helpful for the product team when considering future improvements, I recommend submitting feedback through Outlook Feedback Portal. Customer feedback plays an important role in helping Microsoft understand how features are used in real-world scenarios, and your suggestion could help bring back a feature that other users may find beneficial.
Just a quick note as well: this is a user‑to‑user support forum. Independent advisors, including myself, are regular users too and don’t have the ability to change or influence Microsoft product features or design decisions. What we can do is share findings, observed behaviors, and practical tips based on experience and available information.
Additionally, since many other users have raised similar concerns but may not be aware of where to submit product feedback, if my response has helped clarify the situation and pointed you toward a possible next step, please consider upvoting it. Your action will help pin this post to the top, making it easier for others in the community who are experiencing the same issue to find your feedback and support it.
Thank you again for your time and for raising this important usability concern.
